METI is responsible for driving the development and growth of key sectors in Singaporeʼs economy, to ensure we remain competitive while creating good jobs and opportunities for our people. We build strong and vibrant industries, foster an interconnected ecosystem supporting innovation, and create a pro-enterprise environment that anchors and supports businesses for local and global growth.
In close collaboration with our Statutory Boards, we formulate and implement a range of policies to meet our economic objectives – these include driving investment promotion, supporting enterprise development, strengthening our tourism and lifestyle hub status, unlocking resource constraints, strengthening economic resilience, and delivering impact through research and innovation.
